In their own words

When starting a desk setup, truly ask yourself what's most important to you, how the products offer the most versatility, and consider the price. Come up with an ideal budget and invest a majority of your money into the most important components and go from there.

Observation notes

When starting a desk setup, truly ask yourself what's most important to you, how the products offer the most versatility, and consider the price.

Micah's desk in Hilo runs a strict white-and-black build — a Thermaltake case with clear side panels shows off white braided tubing and RGB fans, sitting next to a BenQ monitor displaying a line-art rendering of Hokusai's Great Wave. A "Til Death" neon sign and a framed Jack-and-Sally print set the tone above the desk, alongside an ornate mirror that's more decor than function.

The same desk shifts moods entirely under blue ambient lighting, where a second vertical Acer monitor joins the setup and a boom-arm mic swings into frame — a wave-themed deskmat and matching wallpaper carry the motif from wall poster to desk surface. White mechanical keyboards and honeycomb-shell mice appear in both lighting states, keeping the palette consistent no matter which mood is active.

It's a build that leans into full customization over any single fixed look — matching Micah's own approach of investing in the pieces that offer the most versatility first, then building outward from there.
